A close reading of our materials should answer most of your initial questions.
For those couples who are already married or are about to be married overseas, you will need to obtain either a Marriage Visa or a K3 Spousal Visa. The procedural requirements of the Marriage Visa or K3 Spousal Visa are similar to the K1 Fiance Visa; however, the marriage visas require more paperwork and supporting documentation. Again, any mistakes in the process will certainly lead to unforeseen difficulties, frustration and long delays in obtaining your visa. Marriage to an illegal Alien is commonIt is estimated that there are some 15 to 20 milion illegal aliens residing in the United Sates today. Many of these illegal aliens are married to US Citizens, have children, are working and living productive and good lives in the United States. Unfortunately, illegal aliens live with the constant threat of being discovered, reported and removed from their families. The road to Lawful Permanent Residency for illegal aliens who have married US citizens is difficult, but not impossible. In such cases, you need to either file an I-485 Adjustment of Status or an I-601 Application for Waiver on Grounds of Inadmissibility to become a Lawful Permanent Resident. ![]() Foreign students who have fallen in love and wish to get married to a US citizen
